There’s no way I can ever talk about everything I want, and there are tons of books and resources out there made by creative and encouraging people. I want to make sure you get the information you need and that these other creators and sites get the recognition they deserve.
I’ve put together my favorite resources for five big topics. This page will go over the basics of each topic and provide links to the topic’s resource page. I built this all for you, so please check them out below and leave my website. It’s fine. Really, I’m not mad. It’s totally fine.
Magic systems are my passion (obsession really), but I’m not the only resource out there for this topic. I want you to have absolutely everything you need to build a kick-ass magic system for your story and these awesome resources might be what you need.
At the moment, there are just a handful of foundational articles, websites, and forums, but I’m always looking to add new resources.
Worldbuilding is a big task, not to mention complicated, and like magic building, doesn’t get nearly the attention it deserves. This page will introduce the websites, podcasts, Youtube channels, and books I turn to first for worldbuilding guidance.
Without a story, very few people will care about the magic system or world you created. Writing is the core skill of most storytelling, be it for novels, games, RPG modules, or screenplays. Fortunately, there are lots of outstanding resources in the world to help you develop your writing craft.
On this page, I cover my favorite websites, podcasts, books, and tools that got me where I am today. Don’t limit yourself to my suggestions alone, but you can’t go wrong picking up any of these resources for guidance.
While you can’t be successful without skill, good tools certainly make things easier. This page is dedicated to various web tools and software programs that I use on a regular basis. I’ll also give you a brief rundown of what I love about them and how I use them.
Some of these tools are writing specific, others are more general, but all of them have proven immensely useful.
I’ll admit, this section os more for fun than anything. Tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs) continue to grow in popularity and are something I cannot recommend enough. I love TTRPGs and encourage everyone to give them a try.
If you’re looking to learn more about the topic, find examples of how they work, or are just looking for tools to help you out with your own game, this page is a good place to start. This page includes some real-play podcasts, my favorite RPG system, and some killer resources to get you moving.
These pages are here to help you find the guidance, support, and community you need to thrive in each of these areas. If you’re struggling to find resources on a specific topic, just let me know and I’ll do what I can to build up a list for you.
